And given that we choose a good Xiaomi smartphone in 2020, at the peak of competition between manufacturers of mobile devices, we can rely on the fact that buying a flagship or state budget “Xiaomi” will not empty the family budget.
Of the variety of devices, we included in the rating of the top 10 Xiaomi 2020 smartphones.
10. Redmi 10X 5G

One of the new Xiaomi smartphones in 2020 was presented recently, at the end of May, and so far it is sold only in China or on eBay, but much more expensive. Redmi 10X 5G is the first smartphone to ship with the MediaTek Dimensity 820 chipset, supporting 5G dual standby and providing 5G connectivity to high- and mid-range devices.
It features a 6.57-inch AMOLED screen with a fingerprint sensor, a 4520 mAh battery with 22.5W fast charge and four cameras, including a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8 MP wide-angle camera, a 2 MP depth-of-frame sensor and a 16 MP front-facing selfie -camera.
The price of this smartphone on Taobao starts at 1599 yuan (15 530 rubles) for the 6 GB / 64 GB variant. On eBay you can buy it for 36,412.73 rubles ($ 532)
pros: there is a rating of water and dust protection IP53, can record 4K videos (30fps), there is a 3.5mm jack.
Minuses: NFC not supported, no wireless charging, no global version yet.
9. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S
- Android
- screen 6.67 ″, resolution 2400 × 1080
- four cameras 48 MP / 8 MP / 5 MP / 2 MP, autofocus
- memory 64 GB, memory card slot
- 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
- 4 GB RAM
- 5020 mAh battery
This is an almost complete copy of Redmi Note 9 Pro, which we will also talk about in the selection of the best Xiaomi smartphones.
The main difference between this model and Proshka is the absence of an NFC chip, which will not allow you to make contactless payments. In addition, the Note 9S has 2 GB less RAM, not so fast charging 18 W, and the resolution of the main camera is 48 MP, not 64 MP. But then the price is much lower.
pros: bright, juicy screen, pleasant vibration response, all applications and games go quickly and smoothly, there is a connector for wired headphones, a cover is included.
Minuses: No NFC, wireless charging and optical stabilization of the camera.
8. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro
- Android
- screen 6.67 ″, resolution 2400 × 1080
- four cameras 64 MP / 8 MP / 5 MP / 2 MP, autofocus
- memory 64 GB, memory card slot
- 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC
- 6 GB RAM
- 5020 mAh battery
This low-cost Xiaomi smartphone is equipped with a 6.67-inch IPS display and a 5020 mAh battery with a fast charge of 30 watts.
The “heart” of the smartphone is the high-performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC processor, and the “eyes” are the rear four-sensor camera with a 64-megapixel main sensor, as well as a 16-megapixel selfie camera. In the dark, “soap” can be seen in the pictures, but under normal lighting it’s hard to find fault with the quality of the photo - both the detail and the contrast and the dynamic range are very good for a smartphone up to 20,000 rubles.
Perhaps not everyone will like the location of the fingerprint scanner in the power button, and not at the back or on the screen, but here, as they say, a matter of taste.
pros: loud and clear sound, there is a 3.5 mm audio jack, a cover is included, a separate slot for a memory card, there is an event indicator light.
Minuses: there is no protection against water, the camera module protrudes slightly even in the case, when shooting video, there is not enough optical stabilization, there is no wireless charging.
7. Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro
- Android 10
- screen 6.67 ″, resolution 2400 × 1080
- four cameras 64 MP / 13 MP / 5 MP / 2 MP, autofocus
- 128 GB memory, without memory card slot
- 3G, 4G LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC
- 6 GB RAM
- 4700 mAh battery
Two years ago, Xiaomi launched a sub-brand called Poco, which impressed the market by offering what was best at the time - the Snapdragon 845 chip in a device worth $ 300. And in 2020, the top Xiaomi smartphones replenished with the long-awaited second-generation Pocophone.
In truth, the Poco F2 Pro is very similar to the latest Xiaomi models, and that's good: the photo and video shooting performance on Xiaomi smartphones is one of the best for Android devices; and the tactile vibratory motor here is just as good as the Mi 10 Pro.
The Poco F2 Pro is equipped with a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED screen, a retractable 20-megapixel selfie camera and a rear camera with a main sensor with a resolution of 64 MP.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 ex-flagship processor is responsible for excellent performance, and for long-term performance - a 4700 mAh battery that supports 30 watts of charge.
Of course, for the sake of price, it was necessary to compromise. Here's a brief summary of what the Poco F2 Pro does not match the usual flagships of 2020:
- F2 Pro does not support wireless charging, despite the glass back cover. It does not have a water resistance rating.
- He does not have a special camera with a zoom, so any zoom on this device is completely digital.
- And the display is updated at traditional 60 Hz instead of the higher 90 or 120 Hz seen in other new phones.
pros: the manufacturer did not forget about the 3.5 mm headphone jack, an ideal display without "monobrow" and "drops", a bass and rich sound.
Minuses: no optical stabilization, no memory card slot.
6. Xiaomi Black Shark 3
- Android 10.0
- screen 6.67 ″, resolution 2400 × 1080
- triple camera 64 MP / 13 MP / 5 MP, autofocus
- 128 GB memory, without memory card slot
- 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
- 8 GB RAM
- 4720 mAh battery
This gaming shark among the best Xiaomi smartphones of 2020 pleasantly surprises with both the screen characteristics (AMOLED, refresh rate 90 Hz, support for HDR10 +) and performance.
Any game on this device will simply fly thanks to the Snapdragon 865 processor, the Adreno 650 video accelerator and a large amount of RAM. And stereo speakers complement the game session with loud and surround sound. To prevent the smartphone from overheating during prolonged use, the manufacturer integrated a liquid cooling system into it.
In addition to games, Black Shark 3 is ideal for mobile photography and video recording in 4K resolution at 60fps.
pros: Fast sub-screen fingerprint scanner, 30W wireless charging available.
Minuses: There is no memory card slot.
5. Xiaomi Redmi Go
- Android 8.1
- dual SIM support
- 5 ″ screen, resolution 1280 × 720
- 8 MP camera, autofocus
- 16 GB memory, memory card slot
- 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
- 1 GB RAM
- 3000 mAh battery
The cheapest Xiaomi smartphone in our rating is the perfect gift for a child, an elderly person or yourself if you need an inexpensive and reliable “mobile horse” for making calls and reading social networks.
Due to its compact size, Redmi Go fits in your pocket, and considering the screen size and not too “gluttonous” processor Snapdragon 425, its battery will last for 1-2 days.
pros: separate slot for a memory card, good audibility, bright and clear display.
Minuses: outdated micro-USB connector, mediocre camera, no fingerprint scanner.
4. Xiaomi Redmi 8
- Android 9.0
- 6.22 ″ screen, resolution 1520 × 720
- dual camera 12 MP / 2 MP, autofocus
- 32 GB memory, memory card slot
- 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
- 3 GB RAM
- 5000 mAh battery
This model is intended for those who primarily need the gadget:
- powerful battery with fast charge,
- memory card slot,
- bright display
- good camera.
Redmi 8 has all this. Yes, in terms of speed, it is not a match for its older brothers, such as the Mi Note 10 Pro or Redmi Note 9S, but the Snapdragon 439 processor will pull many modern games at least at the minimum. And for work or entertainment tasks, such as watching videos, calls or surfing the Internet, the capabilities of this model will last for several years to come.
In daylight and under normal artificial lighting, the main camera takes fairly detailed pictures with a good dynamic range. Do not expect the quality of the SLR from this smartphone, but you don’t have to blush for the photos and selfies you take. Especially if you install the Google camera application.
pros: case included, there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, there is a fingerprint scanner, a separate slot for a memory card.
Minuses: a lot of pre-installed programs, no NFC chip, no notification LED, the screen is slightly grainy due to the low pixel density of 270 ppi.
3. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro
- Android
- 6.47 ″ screen, resolution 2340 × 1080
- five cameras 108 MP / 12 MP / 20 MP / 5 MP, autofocus
- 256 GB memory, without memory card slot
- 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC
- 8 GB RAM
- 5260 mAh battery
This is the newest flagship from Xiaomi. It has a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, a four-module main camera with optical stabilization, an optical Zoom 2x and an impressive 108-megapixel main sensor, as well as a large battery that supports 50W wired charging.
A selfie camera with a resolution of 32 MP will please the quality of shooting for those who like detailed, high-contrast images, but without excessive sharpening (overshooting) and unnaturally bright colors.
But the processor in the Mi Note 10 Pro is slightly behind the rest of the specifications - the Snapdragon 730G. Do not get me wrong, this is an excellent chipset, its power reserve will last for at least the next two years. However, taking into account the top characteristics of the Mi Note 10 Pro, the manufacturer could become generous with the latest Snapdragon 875. On the other hand, this would raise the price of the smartphone by several thousand rubles.
In general, the capabilities of Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro are perfectly balanced for both everyday and gaming tasks, as well as photo and video shooting.
pros: There is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a protective case is included.
Minuses: no wireless charging mode, no moisture protection, bright objects are overexposed, there is no memory card slot.
2. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite
- Android
- 6.47 ″ screen, resolution 2340 × 1080
- four cameras 64 MP / 9 MP / 5 MP / 2 MP, autofocus
- 128 GB memory, without memory card slot
- 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC
- 8 GB RAM
- 5260 mAh battery
The Lite model has inherited many features of the top-end Mi Note 10 Pro. These include: Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chip, curved screen with Gorilla Glass 5, 5260 mAh battery, which supports fast charging of 30 watts out of the box and MIUI 11 based on Android 10.
The main difference is in the cameras. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite got a 64-megapixel quad-core camera on the back instead of a 108-megapixel penta-block and a 16-megapixel selfie camera instead of a 32-megapixel front camera.
In fact, you get a flagship at a very attractive price. With any task, whether it’s a difficult game, such as PUBG or high-quality photography, this model will cope without any difficulties.
pros: large amount of RAM, 3.5 mm jack, does not heat under load.
Minuses: the cameras do not have optical stabilization, there is no wireless charging, the firmware has built-in advertising, there is no slot for a memory card.
1. Xiaomi Mi 10
- Android 10
- screen 6.67 ″, resolution 2340 × 1080
- four cameras 108 MP / 2 MP / 2 MP / 13 MP, autofocus
- 256 GB memory, without memory card slot
- 3G, 4G LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC
- 8 GB RAM
- 4780 mAh battery
If I were asked, without hesitation, to say which Xiaomi smartphone is better to choose in 2020, I would call the model Mi 10. It has everything that is needed from the flagship device, starting from build quality and ending with the presence of a 30 W wireless charging.
Xiaomi Mi 10 has a very beautiful and stylish look that will attract your attention. The phone uses a glass sandwich design with curved glass front and back, making it look very smooth.
The display has a refresh rate of 90 Hz, which improves visual perception in some games, as the movements will be smoother. It is certified for HDR 10+ content and has a contrast ratio of 5,000,000: 1. In addition, Xiaomi claims that the display covers 100% of the color gamut sRGB, NTSC and DCI-P3, which indicates high color accuracy.
The internal equipment includes Qualcomm’s powerful mobile platform, the Snapdragon 865. The Adreno 650 with Vulkan 1.1 graphics API support is used as the GPU. The Adreno 650 is Qualcomm's first video accelerator with support for an updated graphics driver. It can be updated directly through the application store, for example, the Google Play Store using the GPU Driver Updater tool (this option is already available in China).
The smartphone supports 5G networks, but it does not matter in Russia due to the lack of proper connection. The Mi 10 series is also equipped with a fast charge of 30 watts.
The highlight of the device is a 108-megapixel camera with a Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor. By default, the camera can take 27-megapixel pictures with stunning detail, natural color reproduction and excellent dynamic range. As for video, the Mi 10 comes with optical stabilization for the main sensor, support for 4K recording at up to 60 frames per second and 8K recording at 24 or 30 frames per second.
pros: rich and clear sound from stereo speakers, the kit includes a case, a very bright display.
Minuses: There is no possibility of expanding the storage of memory.
